According to the latest Censis report on the social situation in Italy, published on 4 December, the number of Italians using social media is ever-increasing. Starting from the data contained in the chapter about communication and media, DataMediaHub created a series of graphs specifically concerning the penetration of the main social networks in Italy.
Overall, the site says, double-figure growth is recorded, with Facebook in the indisputable position of the most frequently used social network, used by 50.3% of Italians (44.3% in 2013).  Second in line is YouTube, used by 42% of Italians (38.7% in 
2013) and Twitter, used by 10% of the population - although the microblogging site shows very limited growth compared to the other social networks. Instagram users double in number, from 4.3% in 2013 to 9.8% in 2015. Linkedin is also growing, reaching 5% of Italians.
